When I review, I always try to find a positive about it. I think “WHO WOULD LIKE THIS?” not “I didn’t like it”. Due to this, I often will try to come at a review with more about what was good or what aspects were enjoyable. For contrast, I do post who my least favorite character and the worst aspect of the item in my reviews. I still try to approach the overall analysis of any item I review with positivity instead of tearing down someone’s work. The world needs to build up others and help each other find the things that they will enjoy instead of trying to make each other hate things. We have enough hate, so I will always review with gratitude and positivity. Those are two of my most important values.
I break my reviews up in a certain way. I start with the “REASON” that I wanted to watch, read, or review the item. This allows you to know why I went into this particular item. Sometimes it is as simple as I picked it up randomly somewhere in the world to something deeper that is related to nostalgia or something else from life. I love to share what the reason is that I went into something because it allows you to see what my mentality was regarding the item.
After that I include “THOUGHTS” which is exactly what it sounds like: The area that I post my opinion about the item that I am reviewing. This is basically the review itself. I enjoy sharing my thoughts because often I forget how I felt about an item, so this allows me to go back and see what I thought. I also enjoy sharing my opinion because often in life many of us got told to lower our voices and not share. I find it wonderful that I am able to share my opinion now, regardless of who or how many other people read it. I am able to just post and put it out in the world, which is a wonderful thing.
The last area that I post in my review posts is the “Other” area. Often items being review have other things attached to them. A TV show may have a spin-off worth noting or an author may have other books that are part of the series. This little area allows me to tell you, the reader of the post, what other things may be attached to the thing being reviewed. It allows you to take a moment to see if you are interested in exploring the world of the item just a bit deeper.
My Rating System
I decided on 12/27/2025 that I would no longer use a rating system. Yes, you can see those on other sites that I frequent, like GOODREADS, but over here on my own personal blog I feel like I would rather tell you who would enjoy the book instead. You will find some earlier book reviews marked on the date mentioned or before that have ratings, but all those after that date will no longer have ratings. They will instead have a “Who Would Enjoy This” section. This section will discuss who I think will like this item (book, movie, video, music, etc.). It may eventually morph into cute images or something to represent those categories of people I think that will like it, but for now it is going to be words.
