2026 – Books & Personal Challenges

This is the list of books that I have completed in 2026. I will mark the type of book the item was as well. For example, hardcover or paperback. I will include audio books here as well. Most of the books that I have read will have reviews on the blog, so you will be able to find them linked on this list for your convenience.

Here is the list of books that I have read in 2026:

The Witch Within by TudorBeth (Hardcover)
Modern Witchraft Guide for Beginners by Glinda Porter (Audio book)

This personal challenge is to read my backlist books that I own. I will be focusing on literal books that are currently on my at home bookshelves. Starting on 01/26/2026, any book that is currently in my house is eligible. Any books bought after this date are not eligible for this backlist book challenge I am giving myself. I am not putting a lot of rules or regulations on the books outside of they have to be on my physical shelves. The reason for not including specific genres or other rules is that I want to be able to pick what I feel is calling to me from my shelves, but I want to make the goal this year to read from my shelves. I have a tendency to just keep purchasing books without reading what I already have. It is time to read my own books, so this list will be books that I literally owned before 01/26/2026.

Another challenge I want to do for myself is to read or finish certain series. I am going to start with three series on this page for 2026, but this may expand if I get through the books in the series. When I have completed a book in the series, I will cross it off. If it is reviewed, it will be linked here. One of these series will entail a reread, so that I can finish out the series since it has been several years since I read the books originally.

Book Series 1 – Everworld by K.A. Applegate
Reason – I found last year all 12 books together and I wanted to read them.

  1. Search for Senna
  2. Land of Loss
  3. Enter the Enchanted
  4. Realm of the Reaper
  5. Discover the Destroyer
  6. Fear the Fantastic
  7. Gateway to the Gods
  8. Brave the Betrayal
  9. Inside the Illusion
  10. Understand the Unknown
  11. Mystify the Magician
  12. Entertain the End

Book Series 2 – Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin
Reason – I have always wanted to read the entire series, having only read book one, but owned them all for over decades.

  1. Tales of the City
  2. More Tales of the City
  3. Further Tales of the City
  4. Babycakes
  5. Significant Others
  6. Sure of You
  7. Michael Tolliver Lives
  8. Mary Ann in Autumn
  9. The Days of Anna Madrigal
  10. Mona of the Manor

Book Series 3 – The Selection by Kiera Cass
Reason – I read the first several books years ago, but never continued to the remainder of the series. I would like to complete it now and say I finished it all.

  1. The Selection
  2. The Elite
  3. The One
  4. The Heir
  5. The Crown
  6. Happily Ever After
