PROMPTED – Learning Yourself: Post 27

Posted November 27, 2025 by berrywinters_zfqs1i in Prompted / 0 Comments

These are prompts from some other place besides a book that ask to examine certain aspects of yourself. I will not have created these prompts myself, so I want to pay respect that they came from somewhere.

This months’ prompts are going to be coming from this substack that I recently started following:

What does “home” mean beyond a place?

I don’t know if I have ever truly 100% felt like I have had a “home”. Not a place where I feel like I truly belong. The closest I have had is where I feel like I can live. Where I can go out and do things. Where I feel like I can exist happily without fears. Without feeling overwhelming sadness most of the time. A home to me has always been about a place that makes my heart happy and feels magical to me in my soul. It is a place where there are like-minded people that I want to spend time with. That are chosen family.

“Home” is a town/city/place that I love with every fiber of my being. It is an internal feeling that is hard to explain. It is like a warm blanket that wraps around you that provides you security. It is a town that when you step outside you want to make it better. You want to do anything and everything to make it a better place for all those that live there. Home for me, as a social worker, is always about other people and making their lives better in the place that I want to be in. I want to feel like I want to make the city better that I live in because it is my home. I want it to thrive because it is home. Home is that for me. A place that I want to make better because in many ways it makes me better. It allows me to feel peace, so I want to help make it peaceful. That is a home to me. Home… I know of only one place that has felt like that for me.
